On April 12th, 2024, ChubbyChiquita made a post to address her recent absence, explaining how she'd taken time away due to grief associated with her work volunteering with a cat rescue organization, as well as needing to "take a break from anonymous internet threats and insults [and take] some time to compose [her]self and grieve."^[2] In the same post, she mentions how she has not lost weight, and among other things noted how she has trouble buckling car seatbelts over her belly. She also recounts how she recently managed to crack her bathtub with her weight atop a shower chair.
