In 2002 she made headlines after the side of her Florida home had to be bulldozed in order to extract her 955-pound body. Over the next three years, she lost 294 pounds naturally before having gastric bypass surgery in 2005.

As of 2017, she has lost a further 269 pounds to reach her current weight of 392 pounds, having now lost 563 pounds in total.
