Rosalie Bradford was a 63-year-old USSBBW from Florida who was formerly the world's heaviest woman.
In early 1987, after years of uncontrollable weight gain and bedrest following a hospital visit caused her to become immobile, she weighed in at her peak of 1053 pounds. She attempted suicide by swallowing painkillers, but due to her size the drug failed to kill her.
Soon afterward, she attracted the attention of Richard Simmons, who sent her an exercise and eating plan. She eventually got down to 285 pounds for a total weight loss of 768 pounds.
She died in 2006.
