Rosalie Bradford was a 63-year-old USSBBW from Florida who formerly held the Guinness World Record for World's Heaviest Woman in 1987. She was featured in the Dimensions 900 Club.
In early 1987, after years of uncontrollable weight gain and bed rest following a hospital visit caused her to become immobile, she weighed in at her peak of 1200 pounds. She attempted suicide by swallowing painkillers, but due to her size the drug failed to kill her.
Soon afterward, she attracted the attention of Richard Simmons, who sent her an exercise and eating plan. She eventually got down to 285 pounds for a total weight loss of 915 pounds.
She died in 2006. She held a second Guinness Record for Most Weight Lost By A Woman, until surpassed by Mayra Rosales in 2013.
